I recently purchased a Fire TV from Amazon but am unable to use voice commands for local non-streaming channels. I have DirectTV but they told me in order to see the local channels and other live TV I will need to change to Input 1 and then use my old remote control. Is there any way to do all this with voice commands? Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you.
Windows 11 Voice Access bug fixes, UI improvements, and feature requests for Windows feedback By Mark Felling
Why Microsoft should listen to me...
I am a quadriplegic man using Selling and teaching Dragon since v7 in 2003 as well as dictation in Android Google Gboard which offers highest accuracy of any, but very limited text editing by voice. I designed the UI of the first environmental voice controller in 2005, and gave that User Experience technology to Amazon's engineers when they launched the Fire TV Cube, which still to this day has the best voice recognition experience of any smart TV device by all 3rd party comparisons. I received no compensation. The Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Controller for is a copy of my 2008 Versatility controller design. I'm executive director of inclusiveinc.org a charity serving and designing for quadriplegic individuals with little or no use of their hands and arms.
1) editing text such as“ delete previous 5 characters” cursor never ends in Position it should be , rather it moves in text to previous pixel location on Screen
Part 2 of 3 (If I'm willing to provide you more detailed actionable feedback, why limit feedback?)
Part two of three should be able to say“ part numeral two of numeral three”
2) editing text: “ open quotes“ Does not insert a space before“ and when inserting” (open quotes) Before an existing word it incorrectly adds a space every time after the “ call but correctly handles and does not add a space before” (close quotes) when inserted after an existing word
3) when needing to dictate a word that is also a command such as “ open”, one should be able to say “dictate open" Preceding the command word with the word dictate and then continue your sentence, however instead it inserts dictate as a word that recognizing it as a command to format the command word press text.
3.5) dictate command needs improvements in places like Windows pin pop up to be able to say “ dictate 12345” (see how the error trying to insert “ occurred right there). Generally there is an issue inserting passwords and pins in many locations.
Part 3 Of 4 Voice Access improvements from Mark Felling
4) comma It's not well recognized, must constantly be repeated, and for some reason frequently inserts with a space in front of it
5) when saying press key N or any other letter, voice dictate always recognizes the press key but seems to ignore the trailing letter. Often must repeat five or more times for success
6) instead of having to say the full press spacebar, a shortened “space” command would make transition from dragon easier and provides better UI experience for a very common character
7) accept the commands “begin quotes” and “end quotes” equally to “open quotes” and “close quotes” For better user experience transitioning from Dragon
8) add command “numeral one” to format "one" as 1. or "Numeral one two three" as 123. to give user control over whether the number is written out as letters or is represented as a digit . Otherwise it auto formats incorrectly at the wrong times making proper grammar that your high school English teacher would have found abhorrent. At least without tons of manual Touch keyboard editing which I have to done to write these for you. For example Part two of three should be able to say“ part numeral two of numeral three”

9) accept the commands open paren and close paren for or substitute of (and) "open parathesis" And “close Parentheses”
10) Voice Access keeps inserting this character when I say “open quotes” (Emphasizing #3, I just had to type that all out with the visual keyboard)
11) for the backspace command, Allow a user to specify a following number of digits to backspace such as “ Backspace 5” (there's the space in front of open Quotes). It's faster and cleaner to save backspace 5 than it is to say delete previous five characters. UI Simplification and ease of transition for Dragon users
12) add command “Capitalize” followed by one word or sequence of words to capitalize the first letter in each of these words that follows
Notice many of these items you would find by using voice dictate for an entire day of trying to accomplish your work by simply removing the keyboard from your work station and forcing yourself to use voice dictate exclusively. It's too easy to fall back to editing something quickly with a couple keystrokes when it's available. Believe me that's what I do when I'm sitting up in my wheelchair and have some heart movement. When I'm on bed rest now with pressure sore I'm forced to use voice dictate exclusively it is when I found all the combination of bugs and UI enhancements. There's probably quite a few more
