Circumnavigate with a Mixed Ability Crew connecting peoples and cultures to create inclusive global communities while driving attention and awareness to the United Nations treaty recognizing Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities Worldwide.
Two If By Sea has been sketched as a conceptual design. This inclusive design makes multipurpose use of spaces with one level living, would be safer even for a elderly retired sailing couple to handle, and completely off-grid carbon neutral. She would be all electric capable of recharging her batteries from solar, wind or dragging the props under sail. These are all proven technologies. She would feature an innovative sail plan with 2 smaller freestanding masts fixed to the base of the hull with new innovative soft wing sails that can be raised or reefed with the push of a button, or allowed to turn freely into the wind. Removing the focus on living in the halls allows the holes to be narrower and much more efficient with increased performance and safety while simultaneously making inclusive accessibility significantly easier and realistic.
Next step is a detailed hull design by a nautical architect and engineer that has demonstratably experience thinking outside the box. It has been discussed with some of the world's leading catamaran designers and received with enthusiasm. The cost of this detailed design will be around $10,000.
The cost to build a 45' hull could range between $175k and $300k depending where, by whom, and how it is built. A larger 50'-55' vessel would be capable of more but also at nearly double the cost. We hope to outfit the vessel with equipment and systems from sponsors installed and implemented by volunteers. Of course all of this could be significantly accelerated through implementation by experienced professionals with an increased budget. Total build and outfit cost could be between $200,000 and $600,000.

Take a look at the photos of some of the custom cats.
They have an outstanding reputation going back about 20 years. Their website doesn't fully show the diversity of cats they build. They will launch at least 3 large custom sailing cats this year between 45 and 60 feet, as well as a large number of motor cats, including 3 Powershuttle 44 footers.
It's a family owned business.
I have spoken to owners who have had boats built, designers who work with them etc. All are very positive.
I spent more than half a day alone, going through the Shuttleworth 47 they launched in December 2006. Looked into all the closed areas as well, saw the documentation. Even had a sail on the boat.
There were things that I would have done differently on that boat, but the quality of the work was amongst the best I have seen, and I have looked at many boats....
The things I would have done differently were not decisions made by the yard, but by the owner and designer, so it all comes down to personal preferences.
I have around 100 pages of specifications, weight sheets, hardware lists, photos etc.
I am a marine engineer, and run a company doing projects on a regular basis, (in a completely different field). The one thing I have learnt, is that if you want something, specify it.
I have visited the yard 4 or 5 times, and seen how they work, and the attention to detail, and the good project management they do, so I am confident we will have a good project, where they make money and I get what I want.
Of the 5 yards I visited originally in SA, 2 Oceans Marine and Custom Marine i Knysna were the best 2 IMO.
2 Oceans were more experienced with the build methods (infusion), materials, as well as handling CE approval and the project type we are doing. There is also a better pool of specialists and suppliers available in Cape Town.
(If I wanted to build a Duflex boat like a Schionning, the Custom Marine would be my choice.)
Regards
Alan

I’ll write something later, I’m still learning to work it efficiently.

This is at least the second of this model. My daughter has a power chair and uses it to get more time to use her iPad.

My son was paralyzed in an atv accident Aug 2020. He is 6'3" and 250. His injury is c6-c7. He feels so free and relaxed in the water but nobody had anything but regular life jackets so we would have to add a pool noodle to support his head and neck and a square flat float to hug in front. We also had a problem because he isn't a small man. Nothing that would allow his arms free so he could get some exercise. This life jacket has helped a lot. There are a few tweaks with the neck and crotch straps. If they weren't tight enough in the crotch area then his head could slip lower even though we had the neck piece as secured as we could. But the crotch straps when tightened too much they would be a little irritating and cause Autonomic Dysreflexia. I think I will try adding a pad of some sort around the straps. That was the only issue other than the cost, but we would pay anything to see that smile on his face! Now we just need to buy a pool for our own backyard so we don't have to go on vacation to swim. Thank You! I would highly recommend this life jacket. From a very happy mom that cried with happiness to see her son in a pool and able to move around.

I use it today for the first time. My son love it!
My husband who had been diagnosed with Bulbar ALS disease for 2 years at the age of 63 had all his symptoms reversed with Ayurveda medicine from naturalherbscentre. com after undergoing their ALS/MND natural protocol, he no longer requires a feeding tube. God Bless all Lou Gehrig’s disease Caregivers. Stay Strong, take small moments throughout the day to thank yourself, to love your self, and pray to whatever faith, star, spiritual force you believe in and ask for strength. I can personally vouch for these remedy but you would probably need to decide what works best for you.
All is ok
