Is mounted on a 12"x8"x1/2" base of black marine plastic placed under the wheelchair cushion in the morning before getting up. When ready to fish, the rod holder is inserted into the base between the legs. It can be adjusted closer or farther away from the user.
The rod holder can also be removed from the plastic base and attached to the mounting track on the sides of many power wheelchair seat frames or clamped over round tubing with an optional hardware kit.
The hands-free self-setting spring-loaded rod holder drops into the black tube mounted to the plastic base and can be used with almost any other rod holder on a boat, dock, or pier, accommodating various situations or fishing locations.
Many users with dexterity limits will require the assistance of a friend to bait the hook, push down and set the hands-free rod holder, and take a fish off the hook.

We also offer two other rod holders appropriate for users with arm movement but limited dexterity (such as C5, C6, and C7 quadriplegics). With these rod holders, the user can pull up on the rod to set the hook, fight the fish, and independently release the bale.
